Last year at this time I had started a new job. I was the office manager at a large daycare center. It was my first full time job! I was so excited going to the office everyday. I felt like it was my first steps to a real career. I soon realized that I was missing too much of Aiden’s life. He was getting out of bed at night just to cuddle next to me. He wanted me holding him and being with me him all of the time. He would cry and cry when I had to go to work.
I think back to this time last year and my heart aches. I cannot explain what I would do to get those days back with Aiden. To take that little toddler begging for his mom and cuddle him up. It kills me to see how fast they grow. How quickly they change. He went from this weak little baby to this big three old who amazes me everyday.
This year I did not take on extra hours at work during the summer. I did not sign up for summer classes. Instead, I decided to start my own virtual assistant business. It amazes me how quickly jobs have lined up. I cannot explain to you how good it feels to take steps towards a real career and have my little man cuddled up next to me. It feels as if everything is falling into place.
