Awesome women doing Awesome things!

How often do you pat yourself on the back?

I have written before about the many hats I wear. Mothers work very hard. It doesn’t matter if we work in the home out of the home or simply stay at home with our babies. Parenting is tough. It is constant. It is rewarding. But still it is tough. As mothers we have a tendency to not look at how much we do. We put ourselves on the bottom of the list and it has gone on for far too long!

Jessica at Jessica Knows realized this and started the blue bracelet project. She is asking women to start talking about how awesome they are! Mothers work very hard on a daily basis and we need to start recognizing all the amazing things we do! As Writing Roads says you do NOT have a right to remain silent about how cool you are! She has went as far as starting a Google group where all you do it talk about how cool you are. Support each other in each defeat. Whether you just organized your sock drawer or wrote your first book. The point is to stop ignoring how great we are! The word is spreading and I have seen this theme all over the web.

I ask you today. Think hard about how great you are!

Comment and tell me: What have you accomplished today?

Well, let’s see. It’s Friday the 13th. So far I haven’t wrecked the car, killed anyone with my cooking or broken any sentimental valuables. Not bad, eh?

    It’s still early.

I got up before the rest of the family today so I could take a shower and help my daughter cut out heart marshmallows for her class.

I also feel very smug that I’ve managed to stay up-to-date with my feed reader all week now. That’s huge.

I’ve accomplished quite a bit so far today! I’ve been up since 6:30AM and I got both of my kids up, fed, dressed, teeth brushed, backpacks packed, papers signed, Valentine’s Day cards/candy in the packs (addressed to all as well since they couldn’t be bothered to do it themselves), book fair money sealed up and delivered to the school…deep breath…dusted my entire living room, bedroom, both of the boys’ bedrooms, ran the sweeper in the living room, master bedroom, both of the boys’ bedrooms and mopped the hallway, dining room and kitchen. Cleaned the kitchen, did the dishes, organized my book shelf and rearranged my closet and completed two loads of laundry and I’m on my third load.

    I totally rock today!

I wiped snot off my girl’s nose about 30 million times. Poor little thing… And entertained her between sniffles. Yep, I’m very accomplished.
